"I love this roasting pan." 2009-08-23
By bookreader (Marina, CA USA)
I love this pan/dish. I have used it mostly to sear steaks then finish them off in the oven as it handles both stove top and oven/broiler temp without a problem. I can fit two fairly good size New York strip steaks or one porterhouse in the dish as the bottom is pretty close to the the shape of the top, the sides taper in only slightly giving you about a 9 inch cooking base. It is 11 inches with the handles.

In addition the dish does a nice job with vegetables dishes, potatoes and casseroles. I only wish I had bought two when they were on sale, still as much use as it is getting I'll probably break down and get another.

 "Good roasting dish" 2009-08-04
By Dave (Portland)
This is a good roasting dish. It's 11 inches long and 8 inches wide. Good for side dishes for small entrees. Too small for main dishes. If you have any kind of enameled cast iron you know what to expect. If not: excellent for even cooking, great for cooktop-to-oven foods, and easier to cleanup than regular cast iron. Downside: can't handle rapid heating or cooling (the enamel will crack) and you should use silicon utensils with it to avoid scratching the enamel. I've put mine through the paces with no complaints and banged it a few times with no chipping. Staub and Le Creuset make the best enameled cast iron out there so while it cost a little more it will last a lot longer.

Price wise this goes on sale for about $40 now and then - so if you are on a budget watch for a sale.
